Oana Stanciu is a visual artist from Romania, currently living and working in Edinburgh. Her work combines performance, photography and moving image where she experiments with her body and different objects to improvise scenes and create unnatural and subtly distorted images.
For this exhibition Oana has created a series of self portraits using different materials and tools involved in the process of casting iron: broken sand moulds, crucibles, coke, tongs, protective clothing and fragments of cast iron.
